Aldgate Lantern Parade is back (7 Dec 2018) – show your support now!
Aldgate Community Events is excited to be launching their crowdfunding page for Aldgate Lantern Parade 2018: https://www.spacehive.com/aldgate-lantern-parade, and we wanted to invite you to support this wonderful community project.
The support will allow us to engage as many people from across the area. The funding will cover the lantern-making workshops. The more funding we have, the more workshops we can deliver, the more people can participate in the parade, the more vibrant the parade is, and the more visible and connected the community is.
This year, Aldgate Lantern Parade and Winter Fete are back by popular demand. The vibrant and inclusive community events will be lighting up the area on Friday 7th December 2018. In 2017, Aldgate Lantern Parade involved 250 community members from across Aldgate and beyond. In 2018, we are hoping to build upon this by holding over 30 creative lantern-making workshops with groups across the community. Help us make this happen.
What we’ll deliver:
- The building of social cohesion between residents, businesses and organisations
- A vibrant arts and cultural project which is now an annual event
- The visibility of the wider community in the area
- Over thirty free lantern-making workshops for community members
- Free lantern-making workshops for businesses
- Free lantern-making workshops for local school children and families
- Free lantern-making workshops for residents of the City of London
- Free lantern-making workshops for residents of Tower Hamlets
- Free workshops, activities, games and performances for community members
- The opportunity to perform at a high profile public community event
